Andy Warhol
Born as Andrew Warhola in Pittsburgh, USA in 1928, Andy Warhol studied pictorial design at Carnegie Institute of Technology (now Carnegie Mellon University) on graduating, he moved to New York where he worked as a commercial artist and illustrator. Through the 1960's and 70's Warhol developed a distinctive painting style that has become iconic and is synonymous with modern popular culture.
Andy Warhol produced some of the 20th Century's most iconic paintings such as the Campbell's Soup Cans, Marilyn Monroe, Chairman Mao, Disasters and Flowers.
