Welcome to Heal's

Furniture Designer
Born in London, Johnny Egg made his first piece of furniture at 16 while working as an apprentice for a traditional cabinet maker. In 2003 he exhibited at the prestigious 100% Design Show. The judging panel applauded his work. Johnny Egg's style could be described as 'Theatrical Minimalism'. His belief is that furniture should be functional, well designed and practical but also that nothing should be overlooked or neglected. The aim is to create products that offer an alternative to mass produced furniture. Johnny Egg's creations for Heal's include the process of flocking which involves depositing many small fibre particles (called flock) onto a surface to give it a velvety coating. This is not a process that is usually associated with furniture production and gives each piece a surreal and dramatic finish. Johnny Egg's latest exclusive creation, the Vanity Dressing Table and Stool, forms part of our Heal's ReDiscovers collection to celebrate our Bicentenary.
