Husband and wife team, Charles & Ray Eames created a new identity for mid-20th century American design by focusing on creating modern furniture and contemporary home accessories. Quick to identify the need for affordable, yet high-quality modern furniture, they began over 40 years of progressive work, experimenting with new production methods and materials.
Charles & Ray Eames are best known and remembered for their groundbreaking contributions to architecture, furniture design (e.g., the Eames Chair), industrial design and manufacturing, and the photographic arts.
