Heal's Heritage

Heal’s has been designing, making and selling quality furniture for more than two centuries now, so it’s no surprise that we’re known as ‘the home of modern and contemporary designer furniture’.

We have six stores located throughout the UK and an online store, selling a wide selection of furniture, homewares, accessories and gifts. Whether you’re on the hunt for a design classic, browsing for a cool contemporary piece or in need of a fun or stylish present, you’ve come to the right place.

Starting out as a bed-makers in 1810, and later embracing the ideals of the Arts and Crafts movement, Heal’s has a long history of collaborating with prominent designers. Mies van de Rohe, Marcel Breuer and Robin and Lucienne Day are just a few of the legends we’ve attracted in the past. Today, we continue to work with major names like Philippe Starck, Tom Dixon, Orla Kiely, John Reeves and Matthew Hilton often with designs that are exclusive to Heal’s.

You’d imagine with this kind of heritage, we might be tempted to rest on our laurels. Far from it. We’re as passionate today as we’ve always been about introducing new ranges, discovering stars of the future and pushing the boundaries of outstanding contemporary design.

We believe exceptional talent needs nurturing, which is why each year we showcase the work of the best up-and-coming furniture and homeware designers in our Heal’s Discovers collection.

Heal’s may be 200 years old, but we’ve no intention of slowing down just yet.
