Louis Console Table by John Reeves. ‘Living in a world that seems to be focused more and more on the moment, I believe designing with a respect and reverence for what has gone before keeps us mindful of where we've come from and what we really need.’ – John Reeves
British designer John Reeves created the Louis console table by splitting the traditional baroque-style turned table leg into four and inverting each corner to give his design its striking leg profile. As John Reeves explains: ‘The inspiration for this was not only literal, in splitting the turned leg, but also metaphorical by splitting the past open to form a new idea.’
John Reeves first came to our attention when he was chosen as a finalist in Heal's Discovers 2004, with the Louis Console table being the most successful and talked-about piece in his collection.
Now a mainstay of the Heal's Discovers range, John Reeves’ critically-acclaimed design won the Elle Decoration Future Classic Award in September 2006. It is complemented by an extensive Louis bedroom and living room furniture collection, all exclusive to Heal’s.
