Vitra Lounge Chair and Footstool by Charles and Ray Eames. One of the world's most instantly recognisable design classics, the Eames Lounge Chair was first created in 1956 and has remained in production ever since.
Husband and wife design team Charles and Ray Eames drew inspiration for their most celebrated design from the traditional English club armchair and - more unexpectedly - from a baseball glove. Charles Eames commented that he wanted his creation to possess 'the warm, receptive look of a well-used first baseman's mitt'.
The chair provides the ultimate in comfort, inviting you to sink back and put your feet up. Its innovative design uses hidden clips and rings to fix the cushions to the shells, leaving no visible staples, screws or bolts.
Made by Vitra, this is the only official version of this design sold in Europe. It combines the very best materials with workmanship of the highest order. When you buy the Vitra Lounge Chair and Footstool you're not just buying a chair, you're buying a legend.
