John Reeves is a furniture designer who was picked as one of the finalists of Heal's Discovers in 2004, with his Louis Console table being the most successful piece in the collection. Since then, Heal's has worked with Reeves on a number of projects.

John Reeves was born in 1981 in Burnley, Lancashire and studied at Northumbria University where he gained a BA (Hons) in Furniture and 3D Design in 2003. In the same year of graduation John Reeves established his own furniture company REEVESDesign Ltd. Since 2004 he has designed several exclusive pieces of furniture for Heal's, including the Louis range.

Louis as a design was born from traditional design, John Reeves took the humble turned leg and simply split it into quarters revealing a striking profile, combining old traditions with modern ideas and processes, as he states "The inspiration for this was not only literal, in splitting the turned leg, but also metaphorical by splitting the past open to form a new idea."

The Louis furniture range has been celebrated by critics and press alike, the crowning glory being the Louis Console Table winning the Elle Decoration Future Classic Award in September 2006. Other products in the Louis range include dining tables, wardrobes, chest of drawers, beds, coffee tables, sideboards and shelving.
