Types of Bed Linen
Cotton - From the seed pod of the cotton plant, creates a cool, absorbent and versatile fabric.
Percale Cotton - Usually has a thread count of 200 or over with a noticeably tighter weave than plain cotton sheets. Percale fabric is firm and smooth with no gloss. It is also easy to care for, requiring little or no ironing. They also dry more quickly than cotton, which is useful for busy lifestyles.
Egyptian Cotton - Made from fine, 100% Egyptian combed cotton, and is of the finest quality.
Sateen - Usually made of cotton, the fabric has a sheen to the surface and a softer feel.
Silk - Naturally hypoallergenic and, being a natural fibre, is excellent for keeping warm in the Winter and cool in the Summer. Silk is also said to be beneficial to the condition of your hair and skin.
Linen - A natural fibre obtained from the flax plant, linen fibres are considered stronger and more lustrous than cotton. Linen is cool and absorbent.
Voile - A crisp, lightweight, cotton-like fabric, made with high-twist yarns that have a similar appearance to organza.

Thread Counts
Thread count denotes the number of threads per square inch and gives you a good indicator of the quality of the linen. The higher the thread count the softer and more lustrous the fabric, it's also more durable and less prone to shrinkage. The more popular cottons will be around 150TC, while higher quality sheets will start at 180TC. Any bed linen above 200TC brings you a more luxurious fabric quality.
Our ranges are available in various different thread counts, starting from around 180TC and going up to 600TC.
Caring for your Bed linen
Depending on the material, washing and care instructions will vary. However, all of Heal’s bedlinen ranges come complete with care instructions.
All of our bedlinen can be purchased either online or from one of our stores across the UK.

Shopping online at Heal's is easy and secure. Simply click through to the pages of interest and click on the 'add to basket' icon that relates to the product of your choice. When you have finished shopping go though to the checkout by clicking on you basket in the top right hand corner of the screen.
At the checkout stage you will be asked to confirm your billing and address details and you will have the opportunity to add a gift message to your order or input a promotion code.
If you are ordering non-furniture you will get a choice of the delivery service used. If you are ordering furniture the delivery charge will be automatically added to your basket.

The dispatch time depends on the individual product availability. We aim to dispatch products that are in stock within 1-2 days. Please note that we do not part dispatch orders therefore please check each products availability before ordering. Once the order has been despacthed the delivery time depends on the service you chose at the checkout. If you are ordering furniture or you have ordered fragile items, delivery will take 1-2 weeks as it will need to be delivered by a specialist courier.
