In reorganising my kitchen, I wanted to make better use of the shelf space, and replace some old round plastic storage containers. These square Anchor Hocking jars fit on my shelves and counters more efficiently. I bought ten in various sizes, and 'stairstepped' them, the taller in the back, shorter in front. Filled with a variety of flours, sugars, beans, lentils, and pastas they look lovely in my sunny kitchen, and make it easy to identify ingredients at a glance. The lid has a gasket around the collar, so they seal quite well, and the wide mouth allows easy access with measuring cups. They are quite substantial, so rather heavy, which is a slight 'con'.

This product is great for storing lots of tea, coffee, sugar and breakfast cereals. Very durable as it is being used in a company kitchen by 70 employees. Haven't broken yet and I've had them for 6 months!

This purchase was a present for a friend. I have owned several of these jars for years, in different sizes, and they have been much admired in my kitchen. I actually thought that they were now unobtainable, and was delighted to find them stocked by Heal's. My friend was very pleased with her gift.

I've said it all above, but here it is again: these jars are attractive, space-saving, come in various sizes, durable - I have not broken one in 20 years! Yes, they are heavy, but that is a design feature. I can find no fault at all.

These are really good for storing things you keep in your kitchen cupboard eg sugar, flour etc. It is disappointing that the website didn't advise me that they weren't suitable for the dishwasher- in my view it should do! When they arrived each one had a sticky label on the bottom- I couldn't remove some which was very annoying because they are visible each time I use the containers
