Jake Phipps graduated from John Makepeace’s furniture design school, Parnham College, in 1999 and began designing and making one-of pieces to commission. In 2005 he set up his own design studio in London, concentrating on designing his own pieces for large scale production.

He now specialises in creating a wide range of objects designed specifically to produce an affecting response with effortless functionality, playful aesthetics, and a natural elegance. The studio caters for a wide range and scale of projects both commercial and domestic.

The Jeeves and Wooster pendant lights were designed as a playful take on lighting with a real sense of cultural identity. The hat is an object that often associates it's wearer with a particular society, heritage or race. The Top Hat and Bowler Hats are classic British cultural icons reflecting a bygone era of imperialism, class divide & eccentricity.

Clients include: The Victoria & Albert Museum, Colefax and Fowler, Daylesford Organics, Tommy Hilfiger, Google, Philippe Starck Network, Intercontinental Hotels.

April 2008 – Jeeves and Wooster Lights launched, Milan. September 2008 – Jeeves and Wooster Lights installation Havey Nicols, Philippe Starck’s Hotel Mama Shelter, Paris. Jan 2009 - Jeeves and Wooster Lights feature in Ford Ka TV commercial.
