Russell Pinch
"Our aim is to design fantastic quality products; simple, elegant and approachable, for real people's lives. With a timeless quality, our pieces are designed and built to last, and we hope work comfortably in a variety of situations, from concrete to country. Our style does not seek to dominate or dictate but we hope instead thoroughly and resonantly engages."
Born in 1973, Russell Pinch studied at Ravensbourne College of Design, after graduation he began working as Sir Terence Conran's personal Design Assistant. Working his way through the company, Pinch achieved Senior Designer status before leaving to co-found The Nest, a multi-disciplinary brand design agency, with clients ranging from Selfridges and British Airways. Then in 2004, after an already varied career, Russell set up PINCH, his own furniture, product and interior design company in collaboration with his wife Oona Bannon.

The Riley Chair, available to purchase through Heal's, is one of our favourite Russell Pinch products. It earned Russell the winner of the Newcomer Award at 100% Design show in 2004. This elegant, yet solid chair uses traditional craft techniques on the button upholstery and the twin needle stitching.
A prolific career already, Russell has become internationally acclaimed with a string of awards under his belt, we can expect fine things from PINCH.
