Heal’s has been at the forefront of modern design for 200 years and as part of our bicentenary celebrations, a selling exhibition of Heal’s antiques will launch on February 7th 2010 at the Heal’s flagship Tottenham Court Road store.
The exhibition of Heal’s furniture from Arts & Crafts to the 1950s, in conjunction with The Millinery Works, will run until April 3rd 2010 and will include such famous pieces as the 1898 Fine Feathers Suite wardrobe, bed and coffer/chest by Ambrose Heal. Ambrose Heal furniture is very collectible especially his Arts & Crafts pieces, with previous Fine Feathers furniture selling for up to £20,000!

Set within the store in which they would have once been originally sold, the exhibition is a fantastic opportunity to view and purchase some beautifully crafted antique Heal’s furniture, often recognised by an ivory coloured disk which was used by Heal’s cabinet makers from the early 1900s.
“The simplicity of style, the fine craftsmanship and elegance of design make this period of Heal’s furniture highly desirable – the benchmark of 20th Century British furniture.” Derek Rothera, The Millinary Works.
Open for only 8 weeks as part of our 200 year celebrations, the selling exhibition is the perfect opportunity to collect a piece of design history so don’t miss out. It’s well known that Barbara Streisand, Kenneth Brannagh and even Brad Pitt collect Arts & Crafts furniture so follow suit and start or add a beautiful piece of Heal’s craftsmanship to your own collection.
