Since 1980 Wales & Wales have gained a reputation for timeless, intelligent design, emerging from a craft background without being confined by it. As well as designing for large scale production, which increasingly dominates their time, they also create one-off commissions and short runs from their own workshop. Rod Wales is an experienced teacher and gives short courses at the Centre for Furniture Craftsmanship, Maine and has lectured at the Rhode Island School of Design.

Inspired by Christopher Heal's ranges of flexible unit furniture designed in the 1950’s, Wales & Wales created the Slice range as part of the Heal’s ReDiscovers collection to celebrate our Bicentenary.
