William Welch FCSD is an Award winning British Industrial Designer. His work is included in permanent museum collections at the Victoria & Albert Museum, London and the Red Dot Design Museum, Germany. His design heritage stems from his late father, Robert Welch MBE RDI who is one of the most recognized British Post-War Industrial Designers, both of whom studied originally at the Royal College of Art, London.

As a designer he has created everything from one-off pieces in sterling silver to mass produced products that are sold widely around the world. His passion for materials in both technologically and traditionally driven manufacturing processes is demonstrated through the character his products assume.

William Welch's cutlery is created at Studio William Welch by a talented design team (many of whom studied at the Royal College of Art in London) who are dedicated to the pursuit of design excellence through the use of innovative materials and technology.

William Welch has received many awards throughout his career including - Highly commended, V&A/Homes & Gardens, Classic Design Awards, 2002; Winner, Form 2002, Award Tendence – Frankfurt International Fair, 2002; Winner of Applied Metal Design, Oxo/Peugeot Design Awards 2002; Overall Winner of all Categories in the Oxo/Peugeot Design Awards 2002; Finalist in Tabletop Category, IHA Awards – International Housewares Awards 2005; Nominee for The Grande Design Preis 2006, Federal Republic of Germany Design awards 2006; Shortlisted for Elle Decoration International Design Awards 2006; Winner reddot Product Design Award 2007.
